S. D Xpress - Hand2Hand
Dhafney Dela Cruz Pineda x Sharu Binnong Sikdar
S.D Xpress is a personalized logistic packaging collaboration, created by writer Dhafney Dela Cruz Pineda and artist Sharu Binnong Sikdar. Through the thoughtful customization of boxes, logos, tapes, and receipt forms, the duo reinterprets the Filipino tradition of balikbayan boxes, transforming it into a contemporary, interactive experience that prioritizes delivering items "hand to hand" rather than "door to door."

For their installation Hand2Hand, Sikdar and Pineda presented two balikbayan boxes filled with items collected from the Hong Kong community. Among these meaningful contributions are clothing, household goods, toys, and personal care products.
During the artist sharing, visitors are invited to participate in an interactive experience by unpacking one of the boxes and selecting a cherished item to take home. A packing slip in the form of a poem serves as a receipt to complete the experience.
Through this activation, Sikdar and Pineda wish to foster a sense of connection and sharing within the community, allowing participants to engage with the stories and memories embedded in the handwritten notes and items. The installation celebrates the spirit of giving and the warmth of community, creating a unique dialogue between the contributors and the visitors.
